About Me

Welcome

Hello, hello friends! Welcome to The RN Educator. My name is Jackie and I made this blog with one goal in mind- help as many new nurses and nursing students achieve the knowledge and confidence necessary to be a badass nurse!

My Nursing Journey

I started my nursing career in 2012, when I graduated from Barry University’s BSN nursing program. I became a Registered Nurse and always knew I wanted to be a pediatric nurse. I absolutely love working with kids and find they bring so much joy and positivity to everything. I accepted a job offer to work at a local children’s hospital as an RN. I have worked in the Pediatric ICU and Urgent Care Centers (UCC). I went from Registered Nurse to Nurse Supervisor and found my love for nursing education when I began precepting new nurses and nursing students.

Soon after, I became a Certified Pediatric Nurse making me a subject matter expert in my field, received my Masters in Nursing Education degree and took a second position as a Simulation Instructor as well as a Pediatric Faculty Instructor.

My Goals

I started this blog in hopes of reaching thousands of new nurses and nursing students around the world and help them become the confident and competent nurses they strive to be. If there is one thing you take from this blog let it be that I am invested in your success and in educating those who want to learn. Please feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you would like to me to cover any material I haven’t yet covered, and if you want a refresher from older content, i’ll do that too!
